Tutorial 7 of 7

Saved tables, statistics and AI tools

Intermediate 5 min

Save and reopen tables, share a set-up, read your statistics and score sheets, and use the Skat, Doppelkopf and Blackjack tools from AI agents through the JSON API and MCP.

Playcards keeps your games in your browser. This tutorial shows where they go, how to take them to another device, and how the three card-game tools work for people and AI agents.

Autosave and saved tables

Games you play against the computer or on one device are saved in this browser automatically, after every move. On the start page, Saved tables lists them with the game and round; press a table to continue, or Delete to remove it.

To move a table to another device, use Table → Save table file (Ctrl+S). The file ends in .playcards.json and contains the set-up and the running game. Table → Open table file… (Ctrl+O) opens it again. Bundlekeep, the backup app on usefulweb.site, includes your saved Playcards tables and statistics in its backups.

Share a set-up

Table → Copy share link (set-up only) copies a link with the game, the seats and the house rules — but not the cards. Whoever opens it gets the same table with a fresh deal. Online tables are never saved in files or links; they use the invitation link instead.

Statistics

Help → Statistics counts, per game, how many rounds and matches you played against the computer in this browser and how many you won. Reset statistics sets all counts back to zero.

Table → Download score sheet (CSV) saves the points of every round, ready for a spreadsheet.

The card-game tools

Three tools on usefulweb.site use the same rule engine as the app:

  • Skat game value — enter the game, matadors, Hand, Schneider, Schwarz, Ouvert, and optionally the bid and the declarer's card points. The tool shows the game value with the full calculation, whether the bid was overbid, and the score.
  • Doppelkopf score — enter the Re party's card points, the tricks and the announcements of both parties and the special points. The tool lists every game point line by line, as in the DDV rules.
  • Blackjack strategy — choose the rules (decks, dealer soft 17, doubling, surrender, payout) and get the complete basic-strategy table and the house edge, or the best move for one hand.

Each tool works as a web form, through the JSON API and as an MCP tool for AI agents. An agent can, for example, check a Skat game value before bidding or explain a Doppelkopf score.

Rules in the app

Help → Rules of this game opens a short summary of the rules and house rules of the current game, and Help → Keyboard shortcuts lists all keys. Single-key shortcuts can be switched off under Help → Settings.
